    MG service schedule at a glance

    MG sets a periodic maintenance schedule for each model. This page covers 9 schedules: Windsor EV, Windsor EV Pro, Hector Petrol, Hector Diesel, Astor, ZS EV, Comet EV, Hector Tomahawk EV, Majestor. Each column is a service at a set distance or time, whichever comes first.

    On the petrol and diesel models the first services (1,000 km, then 5,000 km or 7,500 km, then 10,000 km or 15,000 km) are labour-free; after that the engine oil, oil filter and drain plug washer are replaced at every service. The electric models have no engine oil: their services replace the AC filter and, at set intervals, brake fluid, coolant and reducer oil, and inspect the high-voltage system.

    How MG maintenance works in India

    MG cars in India follow a fixed maintenance schedule: each service falls at a set distance or time, whichever comes first. This page shows every service for the Windsor EV, Windsor EV Pro, Hector (petrol and diesel), Astor, ZS EV, Comet EV, Hector Tomahawk EV and Majestor, with what is replaced and what is inspected each time.

    On the petrol and diesel models the first three services are labour-free: at 1,000 km, 5,000 km and 10,000 km on the Hector petrol and Astor, and at 1,000 km, 7,500 km and 15,000 km on the Hector diesel. You still pay for parts and consumables.

    Petrol and diesel models

    From the third service, every visit replaces the engine oil, oil filter and drain plug washer. On the Hector petrol the air filter is replaced every 20,000 km, the spark plugs and brake fluid every 30,000 km and the coolant at 80,000 km; on the CVT automatic the gearbox oil is replaced at 50,000 km and 100,000 km. The Hector diesel and Majestor run on 15,000 km services, and the Hector diesel's timing belt and roller are first replaced at 90,000 km.

    Electric models

    The Windsor EV, Comet EV, ZS EV and Hector Tomahawk EV have no engine oil, spark plugs or fuel filter. Their services replace the AC filter, the brake fluid and coolant at set intervals and the reducer (gearbox) oil, and include a long list of checks of the high-voltage battery, cables, connectors and cooling.

    Cars sold before 2026

    For several models, cars sold before 31 December 2025 follow the earlier pattern of a first service at 1 month or 1,000 km and a second at 6 months or 5,000 km. The notes under each model say which schedule applies.

    Frequently asked questions

    How often does an MG need a service in India?

    Every 10,000 km or once a year on the Hector petrol, Astor, Comet EV and ZS EV, and every 15,000 km or once a year on the Hector diesel, Majestor, Windsor EV and Hector Tomahawk EV, after the first one or two short-interval visits.

    Are the first MG services free?

    On the petrol and diesel models the labour for the first three services is free; parts and consumables are paid.

    When are the spark plugs replaced on the Hector?

    On the Hector petrol, every 30,000 km (at 30,000, 60,000 and 90,000 km). On the Astor, at 40,000 km and 80,000 km.

    What maintenance does the MG Windsor EV need?

    A first check at 5,000 km or 3 months, then a service every 15,000 km or year. The AC filter is replaced at every service, brake fluid and coolant every 30,000 km or 2 years, and the reducer oil at 5,000 km and then every 30,000 km or 2 years.
